From reading this article it upsets me greatly to first see everything humans are doing to harm themselves and their own environment, and then watch them destroy the environments of animals that not only are already on the brink of extinction but really have nothing to do with everything that is now wrong with the environment due to all the pollution we have caused. Al of these animals are on the earth for a reason, our need. We need these animals to be here, they are how we find cures for illnesses and such and we are basically getting rid of our needs by causing global warming. Governments need to step up now when it comes to issues regarding the environment, it is the silence that the governments out forth that has caused this mess. This article is mainly about the endangerment of tigers in Bangladesh, but my point here isn’t about tigers, although they are on the brink of extinction, my point is that the environment needs fixing and our habits need fixing. If we do not fix our habits and keep pushing everything environment related under the rug, tomorrow another species will start to extinct. The fact that being environmentally friendly/ conscience is not something that one can profit off greatly, I think that it is up to the governments to step up and lay harsh laws on environment related issues. Because one thing that is for sure certainty is that no one will ever do anything for the environment until they have to start paying for it. Unfortunately the generation of today wont have to pay anything for it, and they are causing the problems. The future generation which is innocent of these acts will have to pay for it.

Q&A on Girls and the Global Economy

Reading this article has given a whole new perspective on the importance of women contributing to the society by way of their career and such. Although I do believe in women working when needed, however as stated in the article that women in the third world countries who do have jobs or have started working are exposed to very ill environment, sexual abuse and other types of gender discrimination. I believe that it is going to take a very long time before it starts to get better in the work force for women in the third world countries. And, if and when everything does start to get better for the women there i fear that it will turn completely into what is happening in the west. Women rite now in the third world are being oppressed in this way, but once it turns into a western like lifestyle women will start to have children much later in life and would be obligated to work. Being in the work force would be something expected of them like it is in the west, especially since stated in the article that it would be very beneficial the economy. I do believe that the greed of bettering the economy will start to play a huge role in encouraging and expecting women to go into the work force. As for the western like lifestyle, I believe that it’s going to go up to that level and once it does children won’t have mothers at home anymore therefore would get less parenting and less attention, thereby increasing the misguidance of children in life(i.e. drugs, gangs ect). The amount money and organization it would take to make something like this happen (i.e. legal and social protection) so women would feel safer going to work and working long hours is something I think is unfeasible. In the end i do support women going into the work force, i just think it can’t really happen correctly( i.e. right hours, conditions, pay ect).

Muslimahs in Niqaab.
http://www.thestar.com/living/religion/article/715872---people-think-you-re-oppressed-if-you-wear-the-niqab
This article begins with an introduction to a young Canadian woman, a university student who lives in Canada and wears niqaab. Of course, the article is in fact about the unfortunate controversy surrounding this practice that has been taken on by some Muslim women. This article outlines the type of people who are trying to make this practice unwelcome in their area. Canada, for example, is a country where some people feel that a ban on the niqaab must be pushed forth. I feel that it is very unfortunate that something as petty as dress or the way someone looks on the outside could be a reason to alienate and try to drive someone out of their home for. Now, obviously, everyone who is for banning the niqaab will tell you they aren’t driving anyone out from their home, but asking someone to choose between where they live and their religion (faith), I think, it's pretty clear what they are trying to do.
The fact that there are Muslims and non Muslims alike who want to ban niqaab, not only in public arenas, but as Tariq Fattah has stated ANY public places where there are other people or at least ‘is not a private place’ (i.e. even the streets). They fail to realize that these are the people who then accuse Muslims (Muslim men) for shoving Muslim women in closets, not letting Muslim women be educated, or marginalizing their women. How can anyone be expected to do all those or reach their full potential if they are constantly put in the most absolute uncomfortable situations possible? In case some of these people haven't realized Muslim women are not as stupid as they think, they are well aware that Canada has given them rights and protection- meaning nobody can force them to wear or do anything they don't want. If you want Muslim women to be educated, then let them go to school and put them in difficult positions to choose faith over something they have a right to just like every single citizen.
In the past, many well known scholars of Islam have interpreted the commands in the verses of the Qur’an (Islam’s Holy book) for women to completely cover head to toe. Many Muslims believe that the almighty creator has commanded the muslim woman to protect her modesty through the practice of niqaab, so as to keep their hearts pure.
Those pushing for a ban on the niqaab also state that crime is a factor. They say they are worried about criminals dressing up in niqaab, so as not to be noticed. It sounds absurd that a Muslim woman would walk around in total day light with her face covered and try and rob someone, and I don’t think criminals are stupid enough to walk around in total day light especially with their faces covered going about their normal everyday business. Whether their faces are covered or not, criminals will continue to commit crimes in ways they will not get caught. The thought of crime increasing because of Muslim women’s niqaab is absolutely ludicrous.
